Zero liquid discharge: reusing water to limit discharge
Water used in industrial processes or contaminated runoff water is treated and then discharged into the environment (generally surface water). However, several reasons justify the implementation of zero liquid discharge solutions in certain cases. Some water flows, even after treatment, may pose a risk to the environment. In addition, as water resources are limited, their reuse, or possibly aquifer recharge, is becoming a priority. Finally, strict regulations governing wastewater discharge can make treatment and discharge particularly complex and costly.

We can work with conventional effluent concentration and evaporation equipment.
In certain cases, we also offer nature-based water evaporation and infiltration solutions to achieve zero liquid discharge. For example, we work with natural solutions such as willow beds, which absorb large quantities of water through evapotranspiration (possibly combined with infiltration), thereby reducing the volume to be discharged. This technology is also suitable for managing concentrate generated during water treatment (membrane filtration).
