Zero liquid discharge: reusing water to limit discharge<\/h2>\n

Water used in industrial processes or contaminated runoff water is treated<\/strong> and then discharged<\/strong> into the environment (generally surface water). However, several reasons justify the implementation of zero liquid discharge solutions in certain cases. Some water flows, even after treatment, may pose a risk to the environment<\/strong>. In addition, as water resources are limited<\/strong>, their reuse, or possibly aquifer recharge<\/strong>, is becoming a priority. Finally, strict regulations<\/strong> governing wastewater discharge can make treatment and discharge particularly complex and costly.<\/p>\n

To achieve the objective of zero liquid discharge, various innovative ZLD techniques can be implemented, some of which are nature-based<\/strong>.
